We are always working on something! Most of our new projects are volunteer-led. We could not do this without your help!

✨  Entrance Path Enhancement
Ongoing improvements to the entrance path from Pasadena Avenue continue to enhance accessibility and visitor experience.

 🦇 Bat Boxes Installed
Scout, Henry Woltz, installed two bat boxes as part of his Eagle Scout project. We’re exploring monitoring methods to track whether we attract these beneficial creatures.

Did you know? Bats are crucial to our ecosystem, consuming enormous numbers of insects, including mosquitos. In fact, bats can eat up to 1,200 mosquitoes an hour. Learn more interesting bat facts at Nature Conservancy. 

 🌾 More Native Plantings
Our planting efforts continue in the area adjacent to the golf course. We’re cultivating traditional Native American basketry plants including deergrass (Muhlenbergia rigens) and aromatic sumac (Rhus aromatica), with plans to add chaparral yucca (Hesperoyucca whipplei) and wiregrass (Juncus).
