DESCRIPTION:Micro-forest Monitoring Workshop \nWe are the starting the 2026/27 gardening year with a workshop. We will be learning to track our progress in the micro-forest using QR-coded tags and a plant monitoring smartphone app. \nWhere: 100 block of Pasadena Avenue in South Pasadena\, east of York Blvd Bridge.\nThe upper entrance\, marked by a small plaque on an attractive river rock wall\, is in the 100 block of Pasadena Avenue in South Pasadena\, east of the York Street Bridge. There is plenty of on-street parking on Pasadena Avenue.The lower entrance is just past the Arroyo Seco Golf Course driving range. Parking is available at the Golf Course Clubhouse at 1055 Lohman Ln with additional parking on Lohman Ln west of the tennis courts. Walk westward to the park from the pedestrian path located at the west end of Lohman Ln. \nWhen: Sept. 19\, 2026\, 9-noon\nNature Park volunteers should: \n\nWear sunscreen\, hat\, sunglasses\nBring plenty of water\nBring gardening gloves and tools (weeders\, trowels\, whatever you use in your own garden)\, there are extra tools and gloves for those who need them\nWear comfortable work clothes\, including work shoes (sneakers or boots) and long pants\nBring binoculars for birdwatching (optional\n\nChildren must be under adult supervision at all times. There is poison oak in the park that we will point out before starting.
